The White House’s youngest-ever Press Secretary has quit after returning to her job following maternity leave, only to face her highly stressful role under Trump’s reign once again.
Karoline Leavit has been one of Trump’s most loyal allies, seemingly defending him at every turn. However, the pair have also had their ups and downs. In April, during a White House press briefing, Trump complained that he receives “97%” negative press coverage and seemingly blamed Leavitt.
Meanwhile, Trump has yet to reveal who will fill the high-profile vacancy. In his own social media post, he acknowledged her decision as one “I totally understand and respect!” while making clear she would remain within his inner circle.
“Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History and conclusively win the Midterm Elections,” the president wrote.
Despite her support of the president, recent reports suggest Leavitt has departed from her position due to “burnout”, as one source told the Daily Mail, “It was a very stressful job to do with her children. She never got any sleep, and she didn’t want her performance to slip either”

Karoline Leavitt holds the distinction of being the youngest person ever to serve in the role of White House Press Secretary, having only recently returned to her duties last month, just weeks after welcoming her second child.
She said in a social media post, “I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary…”

Trump didn’t want to see her go
Insiders revealed to the Daily Mail that “Trump really didn’t want her to leave as he actually trusts her and doesn’t like having to deal with new people in his circle when he wants to focus on getting stuff done in his time left in office.”

However, things haven’t always been plain sailing between the pair.
In April, during a White House press briefing, Trump complained that he receives “97%” negative press coverage.
“A person who gets 97% of bad… maybe Karoline’s doing a poor job, I don’t know. You’re doing a terrible job.” Shall we keep her? I think we’ll keep her,” he said to Leavitt.
